According to phylogenetic models such as Warnow et al. 2013, the modern Satem group of Indo-European language families, Indo-Iranian and Balto-Slavic, descend from a single language community around 2,500 BC, likely in the eastern reaches of the Corded Ware culture.
Genetics and archaeology point toward the Bronze Age Srubnaya and Sintashta cultures as early communities speaking Indo-Iranian dialects, later migrating into Central and South Asia.
